My first time to watch a live football game. Game started at 1800, yesterday 18th/May 2019.
APOEL FC (Nicosia) vs AEL (Limassol).
This is the last game of the Cypriot league and Apoel's awarding after the game - "the fiesta"!
I have to register first at the Cyprus Sports Organization ( https://cyprussports.org/en/ ) to get a supporter's card (blue card). This will allow me to purchase tickets and entry to stadiums. Reason for this is crowd control. Upon registration, you need a valid ID, your photo is taken and pay 3 EUR. If you misbehave during matches, be careful they have face recognition system and be ready of the consequences!
Hence APOEL supporters - ULTRAS were out of sight at the stadium because of this.
The fun and excitement are exceptionally high when you're there. Fans showed their all out support - chanting, singing, screaming and booing. LOL!
Indeed an awesome experience for me. APOEL smashed AEL 4-0.
Awarding ceremony followed with fireworks.
The GSP stadium is located at Strovolos, Nicosia with capacity of 22,800+ and UEFA 3 star rating.
